In the heart of Albany, Oregon, lies Bowman Park, a lush oasis cherished by the community. Recently, Barenbrug USA teamed up with the City of Albany’s Park & Recreation for an Earth Day endeavor. With sleeves rolled up and a commitment to environmental stewardship, they embarked on a mission to revitalize Bowman Park, clearing debris and restoring its natural beauty. Their dedication highlights the power of collective action in preserving our green spaces for future generations to enjoy.

About City of Albany - "Adopt a Park Program"

The city of Albany boasts 36 stunning parks, encompassing nearly 900 acres of green space, from tranquil trails to vibrant recreational areas, the parks in Albany offer something for everyone to enjoy. However, maintaining these spaces requires ongoing effort and support from dedicated individuals. By coming together as a community, we can make a lasting impact on the preservation of Albany’s natural treasures.

The Project

As the world celebrated Earth Day 2024, Barenbrug USA, a leading name in sustainable agriculture, took a proactive step towards environmental stewardship by participating in the Helping with Hands Initiatives by partnering with the City of Albany’s Park & Recreations – Adopt a Park Program. Their destination: Bowman Park, a verdant oasis nestled within the heart of Albany, Oregon. With a mission to enhance the park’s beauty and accessibility, the team dedicated their time and effort to a thorough “Earth Day” clean-up initiative.

On this special occasion, Barenbrug USA’s 15 team members rolled up their sleeves, donned their gloves, and set out to make a tangible difference. Armed with determination and a commitment to environmental sustainability, they embarked on a journey to rid Bowman Park of debris, trash, and garbage that had accumulated over time from the homeless.

Under the radiant spring sun, the volunteers worked hard, meticulously combing through the park’s green spaces to restore their natural splendor. From discarded wrappers to fallen branches, no detail was too small to escape their attention. With each piece of litter removed, they not only beautified the park but also contributed to the creation of a more enjoyable and inviting space for the community to cherish.

As Earth Day 2024, draws to a close, let us celebrate the collective efforts of organizations coming together in championing environmental conservation. Together, we can cultivate a brighter, greener future for generations to come.

“I’m stunned at how much Barenbrug USA accomplished today and thrilled that the park is finally clean, as it should be, and ready for the love and attention from our community.”
