Barenbrug Holland helped the local ‘Voedselbank’ (food bank)
On Friday 15 December 10 colleagues from Barenbrug Holland helped with the collection of food for the Voedselbank.
About the 'voedselbank'
A Voedselbank is a charitable organization that operates on the principle of collecting surplus food from various sources and distributing it to those in need. These organizations play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity and poverty in communities. Last Friday and Saturday in 30 supermarkets in region volunteers asked the customers to buy some extra products to help those who have less money to spend with a total group of 450 volunteers.
The project
On Friday 15 December 10 colleagues from Barenbrug Holland helped with the collection of food for the Voedselbank. Besides helping with manpower, also 200 Dutch cheeses were donated by Barenbrug Holland. The proceeds from the Food Bank Campaign 2023 are 1,915 crates of food worth € 37.50 and € 9,250 in donations makes a total of € 81,000. This is 100 crates more than last year. The organizational team is extremely happy with this result and thanks the 450 volunteers and all donors who contributed to this fantastic result.
